AP – The European Union said Wednesday it is dropping antitrust charges against Microsoft Corp.

Reuters – EU regulators accepted a pledge by Microsoft to allow rival Internet browsers on its systems, ending a long antitrust dispute with the U.S. software maker.

Microsoft has delivered a hotfix designed to resolve an issue in which virtual machines running in Hyper-V on top of Windows Server 2008 R2 are impacted by severe network instability. Customers running ISA Server, IAG, Forefront TMG or Forefront UAG on Hyper-V R2 might have already noticed that the connection between the guest and the virtual switch can be impaired, underperforming to the point where it is lost entirely. The problem can affect the following editions of Windows Server: Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter, Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise, Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard.

The latest version of Exchange Server has been released to manufacturing in the first half of October 2009 and made available to customers the next month. Last week, the Redmond company also made available an update package for Exchange Server 2010 offered through the Microsoft Download Center.

There are no less than three updates that IT administrators will have to deploy, but the refreshes in question make the latest iteration of Exchange Server and BlackBerry Enterprise Server play nice together. An update is now available from Microsoft designed to make Forefront Client Security play nice with Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. The Forefront Client Security anti-malware client update: December 2009 (KB 976668) is currently up for grabs from Microsoft Support, via Microsoft Update and from Windows Server Update Services.
